When you travel as often as we do, you tend to come across some interesting and very remarkable people and places. We would like to shed a little light on some of the places that we love, and we hope you will love them too.
Bella Verona - Salem, MA
Bella Verona is a traditional Italian restaurant in Salem Massachusetts that we stumbled across early one evening on a less than busy street after work. We wandered in to this little establishment and were blown away at the delicious homemade food. A definite recommendation from us.

Ye Olde Pepper Companie - Salem, MA
Ye Olde Pepper Companie is the oldest candy store in America dating back to 1806 upon its first opening. It is located across the street from the House of the Seven Gables, and their chocolate is to die for delicious! Their pecan turtles are even world renowned!

Blake Hill Preserves - Windsor, VT
Now it is our most personal recommendation is when you stop over at Quechee Gorge Village, to make a stop over to Blake Hill n the next town over, we promise you won't be sorry! Blake Hill makes fine artisan preserves, but this isn't your mama's jelly, they make any jam and jelly you can think of, plus a full collection to pair with cheeses and a savory collection too!

Hawthorne Hotel - Salem, MA
The House of the Seven Gables- Salem MA
The House of the Seven Gables is a wonderful place to visit. On top of the beautiful view of the Salem harbor and the exceptional tours of one of America's oldest standing structures, the people who work there are very kind, and every visit and donation made not only goes to keeping the property going, but it also helps the program that Caroline Emmerton started over 100 years ago to help people and families legally come to America and learn about our culture and language.

Quechee Gorge Village - Quechee, VT
Quechee Gorge Village is the perfect stop for a fun family day together! They house the Vermont Antique Mall, a giant two-story antique market place, the Vermont alpaca store that has, you guessed it, live alpacas (!), and our favorite part, the Cabot store of Quechee where you can taste all the cheeses, dips, and other goodies Cabot has to offer! Don't forget to catch the train in the summertime!

New England Dog Biscuit Company - Salem, MA
We love Salem almost as much as we love our road dog, Sophie! (meet her on our "Who We Are" page) That's why every time we stop in Salem, we make it a choice to stop at the New England Dog Biscuit Company. They carry anything and everything your pet might need right on down to homemade treats that even the fussiest of pups will love! We love them, Sophie loves them, and we know you will too!

As you can probably tell, we spend a lot of time in Salem, MA not only for work, but on our personal time as well. When we come to Salem there's really only one place we care to stay, the historic and breathtaking Hawthorne Hotel. On top of their top notch service and delicious in-house restaurants, they are also the only hotel in Salem to be listed on the Historic Hotels of America! If you're planning a trip make sure to check out the Hawthorne Hotel!
